The Religious Right has been striving to breakdown the wall between church and state for quite some time and is gaining momentum. Its ultimate goal isn’t always evident, but hints of the potential danger can be seen through continued attempts to add dangerous amendments to federal and state constitutions such as the recently proposed Pledge and Prayer Amendment. The religious-right increasingly presses for more religious freedom for its followers, which translates into less religious freedom for the public at-large.

Furthermore, the Christian right, and conservatives in general, continue to work toward and gain more control over personal freedoms such as women’s reproductive rights, access to information, gay and lesbian rights, a secular public education, and much more.

The threat of this movement has become far more apparent and alarming since the Bush administration took office, erupting some of the most blatant violations of church and state and civil liberties seen on a national scope in years.

Americans want and need information on these vital issues that affect so many aspects of their lives, and because most favor the separation of church and state and other constitutional freedoms, readers will appreciate the concerns addressed in The Wall™.
